Originally made in 72h for Ludum Dare 57 with the theme "Depths"(although we were thoroughly inspired by the controversial contender "doors"), with everything from sfx, music, art, and programming, all recorded, edited, drawn, and/or typed by our two-person team.

You've been thrown into the depths of a heist.

Help our thief prove they're not out of their depth when it comes to lockpicking their way to freedom. To what length will our burglar go to nab a precious prize from the depths of the treasure vaults? How many doors deep did they land themselves this time? Did our pilferer even consider the depth of trouble they'd be in if caught in the act? All qualms aside, I guess they're knee-deep in it now!

Puzzle your way through the collection of lockpicking minigames that stand between you and a heist well done.

If you're out of your depth, here's a puzzle guide. It contains spoilers, you've been warned.

This game is really fun, but you should get more time for solving the puzzles, other than that, it's really cool.

Suggestions:

  • Increase time for solving the puzzles
  • Add a mode without time
  • Add an infinite mode where you have to go on and on until you get caught. The more puzzles you solve, the higher score you get

Very nice game!

Two hardest puzzles:

Phone riddle and combination lock (until you notice the fingerprints)

really cool!

feedback: the door made of stone runes needs less time to crake

love it

HELLO! I am looking for games to feature on the front page of my upcoming video game website! If you are interested, you will be given full credit.  please dm colegurthy  on Discord if you would be willing to

This is brilliant, every lock is such a clever challenge! If you love games that test your brain and your patience, check out my impossible troll game called LOSR. Let's see if you can break through my traps: itch.io https://gameprompt.itch.io/losr

I like the game BUT I WISH there was no time limit by being chased. Like I just wanna chill and do ts for fun

Half agree with this. There should be a mode without time limits that you unlock after finishing the game once.

It's fun to figure some of them out under time pressure, but I spent a bunch of runs just trying to get the mastermind (last one I didn't clear). Would have been nicer to be able to try without the pressure for sure.

Exactly. I would find it nice if the lode was unlocked straight away, since why not? Plus I‘m sick rn, so it would have been really nice to play this game in a chill way

What an impressing little nice puzzle game very nice

Genuinely so impressed by the puzzle designs, how easy they are to understand within the time limit but also just challenging enough to be a fun experience.

Guide to each type of lock if anybody is really stuck (I would recommend trying to solve them yourself first):

Music note door: Plays a pattern, visual cues as well, repeat the pattern

Wooden door, bronze lock: click on tiles to reveal them, find pairs of icons

Electronic: Look for fingerprints, code is only the numbers with fingerprints on, there are two of the number where the fingerprint is smudged

Rotation lock: Buttons rotate each loop, make it so the symbols on the left are adjacent then click enter

Wooden door, stone archway, visible hinges: sticky note gives hint to four letter word, each letter links to number on phone, enter that code and hit enter

Metal Gate: It says what to do in the thing, basically just click all things which the category above applys to

Fishing door: Click buttons to raise region, keep ball in region for long enough, don't have to worry about decreasing

Bomb on door: Basically just wordle, orange is not in word, yellow in word but wrong place, green is right please

Fully rock with symbols: Each rock moves bar along a certain amount, click multiple to get it to the line

Wooden door, stone archway, can't see hinges: each button moves player in speciic direction, but is randomised, collect all diamonds

Wooden door, no specific features: Sudoku, no numbers same column, row or box

Police Car: Randomised one of any of them above

how do I do the cop car?

(+1)

I beleve the cop car is a random lock

Oh yea cool

Really fun little game! Love the different lock types and puzzles!

very fun. Really loved the pixel art. The puns and jokes in the titles made me chuckle

Fantastic game! Very well polished. Something I think could make for a great additional feature is a timer so you can keep track of how long it takes you to make an escape and try to beat your best time.

omg YESS! timer please :]

hi

how are you?

"ESEFEX" in the settings made me lol

Really well done! i like this a lot

PC Gamer was right this is a thrill!

(+1)

LOL the SFX of you getting beat up! Great game

among us but its just tasks

Absolutely beautiful. Such a polished, well-defined concept. So fun, and the right level of difficulty (even though there's one door I still can't figure out... <3)

The groovy beat is perfect, and graphics are comforting while the gameplay is very engaging. I love this concept; I wish there were lots more doors; I feel like it's making me smarter 😁😁

Edit: I think Gone Fishing and Escape are the only two that can solve themselves.

I love it!!! Quack!

Cool game idea, I got the logic behind the doors, some are easier than others. I eventually understood all doors, except the

Gone Fishing I just frantically and randomly click the 3 buttons and then all bars slowly go green and the door opens, for some reason, no clue what the logic is 🤷‍♂️
(+1)

clicking the button bumps up the white rectangle (it falls down on its own); keeping the rectangle over the moving circle will fill up the bar. its called gone fishing because its using stardew valley fishing minigame mechanics

I finished

This is honestly really impressive for a 72-hour jam! The whole lockpicking concept sounds super fun, and I love how you tied the “Depths” theme into the game in so many clever ways. Huge respect to a two-person team for handling the art, music, SFX, and programming yourselves. By the way, are you ever looking to bring on an artist, developer, animator, or someone else to help with future projects?

Nicely done. Thanks 🍀
