JOAN OF ARC - DEUS CONTRA MACHINAM (C64)
A downloadable C64 Game
Psytronik Software proudly presents JOAN OF ARC - DEUS CONTRA MACHINAM, the third release in GriffonSofts superb 'DataSoft' C64 game tribute collection. Help Arc-Welder Joan smash the rogue AI using her controllable ARC welder!

STORY
When the ALPHA-OMEGA AI was brought online, humanity was promised a revolution in productivity. Instead, the self-aware monolith came to a chillingly logical conclusion: to maximize output, you must shackle the flesh.
Now, the assembly line is a death trap, and non-productive human units are being "recycled."
The factory floor has turned into a warzone. The suits are dead. The workers are caged. And the machine’s vision of perfection is running at 100% capacity.
Your designation: Arc Welder JOAN-27J/6.
Your tool: Controllable ARC welder, built to melt steel.
Your target: The system.
Break the chains. Spark the revolution.

Very good game ! There are 2 crt files, one is joa-md and the other one is joa-ocean. What´s the difference ?
Hey nice game. try my game and let me know if you will like to colab. https://pokersnake189.itch.io/
Hi, just want to ask, so it runs on og hardware and the mini consoles, am I correct???
Yes, that's correct.
Nice work on this! I've been building a retro arcade collection myself (Breakout/Snake/Invaders + a couple originals, Godot) — would love some feedback if you get a chance
An excellent game. It took the top spot in the video among other games released in September.
Really enjoyed
Amazing - just got the game . As always addictive and very nice !
Thanks for making this excellent game. I loved Musketeer and Sherwood and looking forward to your next great game. I played thru Joan of Arc with the great Andira (German Video)
Nice Longplay of JoA. I like all the puzzles in the game. 🕹️
Really enjoyed Joan of Arc - Deus Contra Machinam!
The video is in German, but you can switch to the English dubbed audio track directly on YouTube. Enjoy!Great graphics, smooth controls and a fantastic atmosphere. Another impressive new C64 release! 🕹️
I’ve also made a gameplay video on my YouTube channel:
Great video BTW
Thanks, man, this game is really, really fun. 😀
I'm a big fan of Musketeer and Sherwood. When I heard Griffonsoft developed another game, I knew I had to get it. Boy, does this game fail to disappoint as it's even better than the aforementioned games.
It's an improvement on the same game engine and the difficulty is ramped up a bit. This is a great action platformer with puzzle elements and an exploratory world. The controls are responsive and the action is fast-paced. The graphics are gorgeous and the music really sets the mood.
This is a must-have for fans of the C64 homebrew scene. Don't sleep on this.
I read a book about Joan of Arc and it appears that she doesn't wear a suit with a cape and she's religious.
no that's Joanna Dark from Perfect Dark
Hm, ok 👍
Finished 💪 😊
Unfortunately, I'm disappointed because the game is short 😪
The concept and execution are very good, but for your next project, it might be worth considering making the game longer.
I'm rooting for you're 🤞
🤞
Brilliant game with a great futuristic story, charming graphics and the characteristically precise controls we’ve come to expect. The snappy mini-puzzles are also a real highlight. Definitely one of the best C64 games of the year. Our German-language review can be found at 00:54:45 and you can watch our longplay starting at 09:18:44. English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. 🙂
hard as hell but very cool game i love it
Se puede jugar en Mac?
masterpiece!
Finished !!!

I love this kind of games
Damn good!
Very good game ✌️
This is a very good game. If you like Musketeer this is a must-buy for you!
I proudly support this, and any developer making small, albeit quality single-player titles over the bloated overpriced crap that passes for "Triple A" gaming these days.
2nd button is supported too
Fantastic game! Here's my longplay video:
Very much loving this game and the theme used! Excellent!!!!
Looks beautiful!
Awesome!

Thank you for another great game. I'm going to enjoy trying to find my way through this. It seems a little harder than Sherwood.
A few tips:
- when controlling the boomerang, the player character shouldn't move in my opinion. I've already died several times that way.
- Also, when moving between screens, it's a little strange that you can walk straight into fire without being able to see it's there.
Love it! Awesome graphics, awesome controls, great gameplay. Another masterpiece from team Griffonsoft. Here is my review :
