SDK Initialization
Your game's SDK Initialization tab in the Y8 Developer Portal holds the two credentials the SDK needs, along with a ready-made initialization snippet already filled in with them. The snippet appears once the App ID has been issued; until then the App ID field reads Not yet available — see Create a Game.
| Credential | What it is for |
|---|---|
| App ID | Identifies your application. Always required. |
| Game ID | Identifies the game to platform services. Required for advertising; omit it if your game shows no ads. |
Copy them exactly as shown.
Prefer the snippet on that tab
It is the same integration described in Getting started, but with your real App ID and Game ID already substituted in, so it runs as it stands. Copying it is less error-prone than transcribing the credentials by hand.
The same tab is where you register development addresses, under Development Origins, so that signing in works while testing from a phone, a tunnel, or another machine on your network. Each one expires 30 days after you add it.
Next Steps
With your App ID and Game ID in hand, continue to Platforms to install the SDK for your engine, then to Getting started to initialize it.
