A Tarot Pull for the Curious Souls, the Skeptical Minds, and the Mildly Cranked Cursed
Welcome, darling. The spirits have been expecting you...
or maybe it’s just coincidence?
Stir the crank, shuffle the deck, and receive your guidance from the other side of the loch.
Whether you're just passing through or stuck in a cycle, the cards always have something to tell you.
A draw. A glimpse. Nothing more. Or is it?
---
What It Is
Choose a spread, narrow the deck and let yourself be guided by a suspicious fortune teller.
Bask in dry wit, ancient wisdom, and oddly specific fortunes.
This is a short and cozy experience, perfect for when you want a touch of mystery and very questionable guidance.
Made with love and curiosity.
---
What's Inside
* 5 types of spreads: 1-bit fortune, root-trunk-branch, pentagram, celtic cross, horoscope
* Choice of deck filters: Full deck, major arcana, minor arcana, wands, pentacles, cups, swords, alternate
* Upright and reversed meanings, depending on fate’s mood
* Diary that saves your readings. Entries divided by year, month, day and time of pull.
* Each diary entry consists of type of spread, summary, and each card's position on the spread with the keywords from the reading.
* Delete diary entries that rubs you the wrong way.
* An interpretation of your pull: cryptic, dry, oddly comforting
* Crank to shuffle!
* Sound menu with choice of: Background Music and/or Rain ambience. Sound effects On/Off
* Tutorials that explain each spread and other in-game bits and bobs
* Play again, and again… if you dare
---
Lost in the Mist?
* If the cards leave you baffled or you just can’t find your way around, pop over to the Online Game Manual. It covers the controls, the spreads, and how to navigate the game without needing a séance.
---
No Playdate? No Problem
* Don’t loose hope just yet, you can also use the playdate simulator to play on your computer. More info when you download the game or here.
* Fancy a quick pull right now? Try the stripped down Web Version 1-Bit Fortune Pull. It’s a bare bones work in progress but ready for the curious who wants a taste.
---
Mysteries that may emerge in a future update (the spirits permitting)
* Mobile friendly web based version for one card pulls
* More fortunes, keywords, interpretations, sarcastic comments...
* More spreads
* Sounds, art, animations(?)
* Brazilian Portuguese and Scots versions (maybe for the web version only)
* The veil’s thin. Let me know what you'd like to see next
---
The Fine Stardust Print
This is not meant for serious life choices.
If your interpretation of the card tells you to quit your job or fight a crow, please think twice. Especially about the crow.
Contains mystical sarcasm, vague truths, and just enough bite to sting. Best taken with a pinch of salt or a can of irn-bru.
Seriously, don't go fighting crows! They are incredibly cool and will absolutely tear you down.

Loving the new update! All the new spreads are awesome, and I particularly love that you added a diary to keep track of the user's readings... for the longest time, I've been manually writing down my readings in a little notebook, it rules that the "spirits" will write them down for me from now on. :D
May I suggest, for a potential future update, to add the ability to delete individual entries? After installing the app, I did a few test runs to try out all the different spreads, but I did them without purpose so I have no interest in keeping records of them.
Aahhhh that’s so cool to hear that you were doing your own notebook already!
I’m glad that you are enjoying the new version.
Also noted about the suggestion, I might have to tweak somethings in the diary for the catalog release so I’ll be looking into adding some way of deleting entries as well. It is a nice touch indeed. Thanks so much for the feedback and for playing! :)
I can't get it to side load into my playdate. I tried it zipped and unzipped with just the .pdx file. Other itch.io playdate games load up no problem. IDK what I'm doing wrong. 😬
Oh no! :( Sorry to hear that…
I haven’t had that issue before, but I’ll have a proper look tomorrow when I have more time and test this build. If there is something wrong with it?
Feel free to email me: marcelo.terreiro@gmail.com or _mama666 on discord.
Or let me know how to contact you, and I can send you a different build if it’s the case, or let you know if anything.
Sorry it took me a while to reply, but I figured it out! I had to switch browsers on my phone for some reason. I was using Chrome and the file wasn't showing up in my downloads. I switched to Firefox and it worked like a dream. Thank you for checking and for the super cool little tool!
Yesss that’s great!! I’m glad it all worked out. And thanks for the comment and interest!!
Heya, me again.
I just tested redownloading, deleting and resideloading fresh. and worked out fine…
So the issue it’s not the file.
Are you sideloading online via the playdate website or through the SDK? If online, do you see the game in the sideload section? or not at all?
I’m not super sure of what it could be, but if it still not working give me a shout I can try to help as best as I can.
❤️
❤️❤️❤️
How to play?
Is for the Playdate, but if you don't have the console you can download the sdk and use the simulator.
Here is the link - https://play.date/dev/
Then you can just open the .pdx file in the simulator. Let me know if you need anymore info to make it work. happy to help :)
awesome! would love to see it on catalog too. also... do you always get the ace of pentacles for your first pull or did i get lucky 😂
Awnn thanks for the comment and for playing!
I didn't even thought about sending to catalog tbh, but been getting some nice reviews. I think once I have time to go back and do some updates I'll try to send it to them!
Lool. Ace of pentacles was in your path to pull on yr first venture, the cards follow their own path and the spirits of rng smiled to ya :)
