About This Game:

JazzWitch is a speed-combo platformer: chain jumps, dashes, wall-bounces, and saxophone blasts together and your combo score climbs, and the faster your combo climbs, the faster the game pushes you to move. Fall behind the rhythm and the rising flood underneath, will remind you why you shouldn't have.
If you've ever chased a high score in Icy Tower, felt the click of Celeste's controls, or loved how Pizza Tower turns speed itself into the scoring system, JazzWitch is built out of that same DNA — with a saxophone-toting witch shooting her way out of a summoning gone wrong.
---------------------------------------------
Gameplay:
- Your combo score is your speed — the better you chain moves, the faster and higher you climb
- Chain dashes, wall-bounces, and shots to keep the combo (and the pace) alive
- Outrun the rising water — hesitate and the tower decides for you
- Climb through unique biomes and face off against bosses built for each one
- Compete on a global leaderboard, unlock power-ups and modifiers through achievements
- Unlock new power-ups and modifiers through in-game achievement system.
- Pick-up-and-play gameplay
- Enjoy the jazz!
Eventually:
- Enjoy the jazz!
- Play a diverse cast of witchy musicians!
- Explore different game modes.
- Global Scoreboard
- Achievement system
- New Power-Ups
- New bosses
- Animations
- Story
This is just a demo to what's to come it doesn't present the final product!!!

Such a great game! I had an opportunity to play it first in TipiLAN event in TalTech Uni, I liked the mechanics in total. I also have heard that this is not the final version yet, that's even more intriguing. I will be waiting for the final result, wishlisted, obviously
Each jam we have submitted this game to doesn't have the rule "game must be made for the jam". We specifically searched for such to help with the game's reach, so I do not see an issue. If you are referring to the "Demo Jam" the itch version of JazzWitch exactly that -- a demo. We aren't breaking any rules, and all we want is to show our game and get people interested. If it's an issue the organisers should write what qualifies as an entry inside the rules. We've already had several people complain, despite not a single jam we have entered to having this listed in their rules. We're all here to make games and show what we can do, right?
I think this game was in gmtk game jam 2026
no it wasn't, probably mixing up with some other game
Was this project disqualified for the "Do you Wanna Jam" jam? Can't see it at the entries page O.O
not exactly but here's the situation, since there weren't anything written in the rules about already in development games submission we wanted to submit our game and gather some player feedback etc. , then someone without even playing the game gave us 1 star and when I talked with them they acted very rude and said games needs to be made in the jams time frame, and we said but there weren't any written rules about that and I know game jams some people are joining with their existing games to gather player feedback which is fine by me, and then we asked on the discord server and they were saying things like even though it is not written as a rule games should be made in this time frame for this jam and we told them then you guys need to specify this inside the rules of the jam, and they were keep it going like no we don't have to etc. so we decided to withdraw the submission because we don't want drama or any beef with anyone, we just want to make our game best way possible, giving the best experience as possible.
Just saw it and all looks adorable! from the page to the game itself!! heheheheheh Will play as soon as I can ' u '
oh thank you so much, it is still work in progress so please if you see anything missing or feeling of tell us, I just recently made a small update for advance movement techs like in Celeste and a one special to this game :)
I played the game and I really enjoyed it. The idea of playing as a witch who uses a saxophone as a weapon is honestly a very unique and fun concept. It immediately caught my attention because it feels different from typical platformer games.
The thing I liked the most about the game is the atmosphere. The jazz theme, music, and saxophone mechanics fit together really well. The soundtrack is great and gives the game a really nice arcade feeling. The art style is simple but works well, and the overall vibe reminded me of old-school games while still feeling fresh.
The gameplay is also fun. Learning how to use the movement, build momentum, and climb higher with the wall mechanics creates a nice challenge. The ability cards are a cool addition as well, because they give you different options during a run and make the gameplay more interesting.
There are some things that could be improved. The biggest problem I had was with the menu and restart system. Some buttons did not work properly, and having to refresh the page after failing was a little frustrating. A proper pause menu and a restart option would make the experience much smoother. The movement also could use a little more polish to feel more responsive.
Overall, I think Jazz Witch has a really cool idea and a lot of potential. The saxophone mechanic is something I haven't seen before, and combined with the jazz atmosphere it creates a very memorable experience. I’m looking forward to seeing how the game improves with future updates.
By the way, we are also working on our own indie game called ZAR. If you have some time, we would love to hear your feedback about it:

Good luck with the development!
Thank you so much, and I2m glad you enjoyed it, we are still improving the game adding new things to the movement and also the visual side, we didn't focused on too much to UI at the moment because our first priority was making core gameplay and movement good and since we are at the good point with those we are much more focusing on UI and menus from now on also we have some ideas for making level layout different then it is right now so stay tuned and if you liked it and see what comes next you can follow and wishlist Jazz Witch on Steam, I will check on your game as well and leave my feedback :)
