this game is amazing.
My only issue, which ain't the devs fault, is that I've played this game 5x times. Each time I fall asleep I wake up to my game being timed out and I "have" to start again. Each time I learn something new, and a better way to do things...

A fantastic game, I love that the coders in the form of EONS restart the simulation your inside of if you delete something they deem critical or try to kill you when you attack them
The game is good, but sudden game over with full progress reset is too cruel. especially without explanation how to avoid game over.
I really struggled with this, but its better than a soft lock! And the only way to trigger that is by a destructive action, deleting something that is critical to winning.
If something can cause softlock it doesn't mean it should lead to full game reset. In this case dev could either prevent player from deleting important file or change the punish into 5-15 minutes progress reset. The game wasn't established as "super hardcore game where you should be very careful for every action", it just incremental, it has no reason to have a such cruel punishment.
You ever deleted a file on a computer and cant get it back? So did skynet.
Its a choice. Either softlock, or game reset, or put the bowling bumpers on. I chose reset.

It's a shame there is no more to this game, it was really good
Things like playing the sony game or downloading the image, or more explicitly the '10mb to decode the network' sort of suggested there was more somewhere, you can get to about 1.5mb I think
Also, Sony, and I think Solar, give you the wrong cpu when you absorb them- not the one they had when you scanned them, and if you change it then put it back to what you absorbed them with it just gives error, and you have to put it to a different pair to make it useful again
Thank you! I've been sitting here running and deleting pcaps hoping somehow getting 10mb worth would do something lol. This is a fun game, but probably too vague at times, and leads you on to think certain things are achievable when they are absolutely not.
cant get the last host to be able to force absorb.. have looked basically everywhere.. got the infinite loop at the end, but did it with 7 cores instead of 8.. very confused. it is annoying that there is no way to save and i have to do it all over again each time. extremely cool and aesthetically pleasing though. a little nudge in the right direction would be nice. the only thing i havent found a use for is the dr who file.
figured it out. finished. great game.
wish the game was way longer. I kinda hated the ending. wish we actually could take over all computers and such. Its basically an idle game with some actual strategy. WHICH IS WHAT I WANT

That means you are hitting a failstate, likely by deleting something you need to win
OH. It does say something like that. Wonder what I'm deleting that I need. It also happened when I tried to use the code it gave on Sony, which I just assumed was because it gave that code. Is that why?
if I grab either of the EONS downloads(aka Sony host and the core boost) will it reset my progress in the future?

How far in are you? If you're at the part where you have the read me text, you have to delete that in order to have enough space to get the required data through 'listening' to continue.
Now that was fun. I enjoy hacking games, because when you get right down to it they are really just puzzle games. This was definitely a good one.

This was just great. Was disappointed when it ended, but that was just because I wanted more.

I haven't finished yet. Died again. LOL! This time when trying to make EONS the 10th Host. Also, I gotta say that Your use of A Game Within A Game is the best "Tutorial" I've Ever seen in any game in my life! And, "Cateramen" is right. Your work is magical!

Not broken, you just missed the other network flaring up.
I did not miss it. I did try to scan it and nothing happened no matter how many times I filled and refilled storage space. Max improved storage space to be clear.
odd only thing. ican think of is you didnt have all the hosts. never heard of that happening
you have to delete all files on your systems, and listen on the secure network until you have all of your memory filled with quantum files
that inturn will let you research a new tech
damn i was guessing it might be something like this but wasnt sure. just spent 2.5 hrs on my first playthrough and crashed out with EON as my 8th host lol. Wanted to see what happened. Didn't want to spoil the game but was so stoked after playing through this game I just came upon I wanted to see what everyone else said. This game is lit. thanks for the tip. :)

Basically if you have all the cores, you can theoretically do nothing and not lose and collect those tasks. I didnt want people that got to the end to actually die.
Also I got effectively stuck in a way and had to refresh because I don't know for the life of me where that thing that doubles all the storage spaces was

Fail states are not random. They happen when you end up in a situation where you cant win, usually deleting a critical file.
Yeah I know, but sometimes I just misclick or it's in a .txt file or something
i hope thats not how you treat your files in real life

What to do after installing psjailbreak.img and/or finding solar host?
psjailbreak is for the Sony host, the Solar host needs remote desktop (or whatever the name was) and the password is in the Nova logs
Can we get save points maybe? like big events have an autosave point so that if you have to close the game, then you don't lose all your progress? It would be nice to have that pre eons
don't understand what the endpoint is, otehr than the skynet. Is there a way to get more probes,or is that something you get after beating the game once to help with speeding stuff up (for like speedrunners or sum)? I'd just need like a hint for what to do after i get to the sony jailbreak thing.
