I'm really liking the bones of this, the combination of designing your board then piloting the deck is fun. As a deckbuilder though it just feels really random and impenetrable right now. Maybe I just need to git gud but you don't know what's coming up on the calendar so you can't plan, when events affect cards it's random so you can't plan around that, plus the events are random and it's random if you'll even get an event at all.
Since you can't see your starting building you can't plan around that with relic choice, it's pretty common to choose starting relics that are anti-synergistic with the starting building so you already start off on an unlucky foot that you can't do anything about.
I like the culty esoteric vibe of the event flavor, but even after quite a few runs it's impossible to remember what every event actually does for me so even when I'm re-encountering something I've seen it still feels like a crapshoot. It's tough cause just saying what the events do would diminish the vibe, but it's also frustrating to just be guessing and hoping.
All that said there's a lot good here and I'm excited to see where this goes!
this is a great gameplay prototype, super satisfying if a little auto-piloty at times. It's easy to imagine a lot of fun game modes though, like a roguelike deckbuilder take on it rather than a skill tree, ways to let the player manipulate the wheel to target certain numbers/colors and more upgrades to play into that like bonuses for certain number color combos, a hardcore mode where you actually have to bet the money you earn, earning targets that you have to meet, stuff like that! I'm curious what the imagined prestige looks like cause I will say idk if I would go back for more of the same run just with bigger numbers, there would have to be some different gameplay element to make it worth playing more than one run imo
Another banger! I was pretty confused by the cyper, the image that someone posted in the comments here was the only thing that got me to understand the text description is not clear imo. Also I don't see why the documents take you away from the rest of the UI, having to x out of the documents to get to anything else is just an extra step seems like it could be another tab in the menu like everything else. But looking forward to the full release!
this game is really fun and really frustrating at the same time. The combat is really fun but the encounters are so randomly difficult that it's impossible to make real choices, and you can't scale enough to be safe. Sometimes a medium 1v1 is actually doable, sometimes you get matched up against a superweapon with multiple legendary cards on round 3 and you don't know until you already chose. The egg game is impossible for 90% of the starting builds it seems like but it gets marked as easy. Also why are so many of the encounters duels where all your cards get disabled, why would I want to get multiple rounds into making a build just to get stripped back to the starter ball, really boring and counterintuitive for a roguelike. But all that said it still feels so good when you actually can get something going that I still keep playing lol
also an option to stop background motion would be awesome, I don't really get that motion sick but the constant scrolling gets to be a lot especially with a lot going on in the battlefield
crazy aesthetic, great art direction and fun to play! Does reaching the destination not do anything in the demo?
Also maybe there's more in store in the full version, but the main balance niggle I ran into so far is that biofuel costs and inputs scale way faster than your ability to increase production since it's tied linearly to machines, so I'm getting into the tens/hundreds of thousands of other resources but can still only make 30 biofuel every 10 seconds
i love the long arm, the idea of managing paperwork as the UI is great, and progression feels good. I unlocked the orb and don't really understand how it works at all and doesn't seem like the currency shows up in the resources UI so not sure how to even track what's going on there. Also at least on my screen even at max zoom everything is really small, a UI scale option would be nice. But fun stuff!
really great aesthetic and slick, and i like that each level is kinda like a little puzzle. I don't really get the logic behind charging to go into levels you already paid to unlock, most of the time it's just an annoying amount of money that you'll probably earn in 20 seconds or so so it isn't worth it to do another lower level and it just feels like arbitrary time wasting imo
really like the idea here, just not really clear on how much things earn so it's hard to make choices. also once you have even not that many buildings they don't all fit on the screen so it's impossible to play at that point sadly. Is the expectation that you transmigrate as soon as it's possible? cause it seems like deeper runs don't increase memory gain unless I'm missing something
the foundation of a cool style and satisfying interactions are there, but it seems like there are some bugs (there are never anywhere close to the stated card limit of cards on the board) and I wish there was another level of stategy or at least improvement to aim for. Particularly around deck construction I think there could be a lot more to work towards. Since you can't change the deck or predict what cards you'll flip there's no point in upgrading anything besides high card and pair besides just burning money, but if you could edit your deck somehow and shoot for other hands that could make choices more interesting. I had a fun half hour with it tho!
I really liked this! the art is sick, collecting is fun and the card game itself is pretty solid. The CPU is insanely easy to beat but still fun. It would be nice to have a QOL feature for your gremlins to collect holos/foils/and especially full arts that you don't have yet but that would be a little underwhelming potentially if you just look at your collection and see you already have all the full arts I guess
