Hi Leonis! I've just released Dracula — Illustrated Edition for ZX Spectrum Next, but I don't see it in your database yet.

It's a full illustrated text adventure inspired by Bram Stoker's Dracula, with a free demo available here: https://giadacu.itch.io/dracula-english-zx-spectrum-next-illustrated-edition

Thanks for maintaining this fantastic database!

¡Para el 128K ya lo hay, y para el Next llegará muy pronto!

Hi! You are right, the game was not being saved on the SD. I have fixed the bug now and released a new version. Thank you very much for pointing this out!

Great!!

That’s amazing Paul! I’m intrigued as I think you should be able to play on Android if you complete the setup with a bluetooth keyboard!

¡Hola!

Thanks! I’m really glad you’re enjoying the demo! Unfortunately I won’t be at Pianeta Amiga this weekend, but it would have been great to meet there. Maybe next time! 🙂

thanks! If you need help you can write to me at aicardi.gb@gmail.com

Hi, thanks for the offer! An Arabic version could be interesting, although the game’s text parser makes translation a bit complicated. Feel free to contact me at aicardi.gb@gmail.com

Hi! I wasn’t aware of the situation between the two sites. I just appreciate anyone covering my game. 👍

Thank you so much! 😊 I’m really happy that you featured Dracula on Indie Retro News. It means a lot to me! 🧛‍♂️

Haha, you’re right! He’s definitely not the most talkative servant in history! 😄 Thanks for playing and for the kind words!

Thank you! That’s an interesting suggestion. I hadn’t considered ULA+ for Dracula, but I’ll definitely look into it. It could be a nice optional enhancement for supported hardware and emulators.

Also, after setting to Black & White tv, for best results on FUSE go to Options, Filter and select PAL TV 3x. This gives the image a more authentic analogue look, making it feel less pixelated and more cohesive.

Dracula — Illustrated Edition is a new gothic interactive adventure created specifically for the ZX Spectrum 128K, inspired by Bram Stoker's classic novel.

Explore dark villages, ancient castles and mysterious locations. Talk to characters, examine objects, discover clues and solve puzzles as the story unfolds through time.

The game uses a natural command parser: there are no predefined actions to choose from. Type what you want to do, experiment, and discover how the world responds.

A monochrome Spectrum experience

The game is designed to be played in black and white. The Spectrum's colour palette is transformed into different levels of brightness, creating detailed greyscale illustrations with a distinctive retro aesthetic.

hi Petr, the game is meant to be played in black and white; it uses the different values of the ZX Spectrum colour palette to simulate different shades of gray when the output is set to b&w. So you can either turn  colour saturation off in your monitor or go to Fuse settings and choose black and white tv.  This is explained in the starting screen of the game but maybe it’s not too clear, so thanks for your feedback and let me know how you get on with the game!

Grazie!

hi,

do you mean so that you do not have to type in the entire word but just the first four letters of each word, so that for example “examine the castle” can be recognised by the parser as long as you type “exam the cast”? If this is what you mean no, I didn’t, and it’s definitely something I could incorporate thanks!

I have been waiting 39 years for this game, great work!!!! Congratulations to the team that brought us this marvellous sequel to Atic Atac!!!!
