Usagi is decently outside of the scope of my lib. I think this is probably a much lighter version of yours. I'm going to open source it once I actually finish, test, and validate it. I'd probably save a lot of time by just using Usagi, but I'm learning, too.

Hey @brettchalupa! Love your art/writing/code! I got into Lua with Pico-8, and from there, I've been getting into Lua+Love. I'm currently working on an all-in-one API/lib that sorta mirrors the Pico-8 API (gfx, spr, tilemap, input, audio, math, data, system), minus its restrictions, and someone recommended I check Usagi out, and it kinda looks like the same concept.
I'm wondering if I'm just doing a bunch of work that you've already done. Although, I think mine might be a more lightweight version, all crammed into one .lua to be used with require. My idea is for a more general use API versus one made to be intentionally restrictive. There's still a lot of overlap, though. I liked how you split some of the functions into a simple version and an _ex version with extra params. I might do something similar, at least for sprite commands, it makes a lotta sense.
