Thanks! I've been working at making a devlog post but it's been surprisingly difficult for me. I can't wait to show what I've been up to

This was fun! I jumped in and worked out how to play by losing a few times very quickly, and that's a great way to learn a game, so I like that aspect. My hands hurt with the mash minigame, so I just give up when that appears. I like the graphics with the only exception it is hard to tell which path I am currently selecting, especially when there's exactly 2 options, an animation could have helped there. Overall I really like the game flow, nice work!
Amazing game! The level of polish is insane, the visual details are really impressive, the gameplay mechanic is simple and is explored nicely. I unfortunately came across the soft-lock (sorry, I must judge the jam version) but it didn't hinder my enjoyment of this game. Anyway, 5 stars, this is sick.
If you would check out mine I would be immensely golden :) https://charlie-batten.itch.io/old-gold-treasure-hunt
Fun game! I love the artwork, really impressed with how much you got out of the limited colour palette. I like the little details like in the falling animation with the hat coming off.
The controls felt a bit unusual at first with W throwing dynamite and mouse clicking to shoot but I got used to it quickly. The enemy placements got a bit cramped near the end but I felt I had the tools to overcome them. And when I struggled the checkpoints were generous enough I wasn't deterred to stop. Only minor annoyance was while the boss arriving cutscene was happening I was getting attacked by a falling bomb. Feels like a Gameboy game!
I mean the UI elements aren't the same resolution as the pixel art behind it. It seems the game window itself is larger than 160x144, even though you have a viewport at the correct resolution stretched to fit. For example, the money counter is much higher resolution than Mr Holden Gold, it would be using a pixel font with the same sized pixels as him.
Love the art, and the sounds for Captain O'Greddy talking was funny. The gameplay is very basic but also enjoyable. I made it to level 7 but the pattern on the right I couldn't quite get past, maybe I had to wait longer for a gap to appear. I didn't want to redo my progress but still had a good time with what I played.
I found several mushrooms, unfortunately I kept talking to granny and she ended the adventure prematurely lmao. Very cool aesthetic, I liked finding the stream, it was hinted well and still subtle enough to feel hidden. The storytelling was evocative and really put me in the shoes. I might come back and try again, I'm still wondering where the shears are.
