Hi there, and welcome to Remedy-Serenity Jane's first book jam! This is like a game jam, but you write instead. Submit writing pieces of any genre, length, and style as long as they fit the theme of CHRONICALLY ONLINE. Comics may be submitted as well, but this jam isn't a good fit for game submissions. This is just a fun, chill jam to create inspiration!

Why is that the theme?

I wear this term against my will, and proudly. I think that there are many places you can go with this theme---Malloy's Octet would be a wonderful example. Also I've just generally been thinking lately about how being "chronically online" has shaped my creative work. So, here we are.

I won't be picky. As long as you believe that your work fits the theme of chronically online, it's welcome in this jam.

More guidelines

- Original work only, please no fanfiction (but non-fiction works/personal essays/original fiction about fanfiction are chill)

- Any length, no minimums or maximums, any genre, go wild

- Runs from October 13 to February 02. All works must be created during this time, as this is a challenge.

- NO AI GENERATED CONTENT, anywhere. No AI covers. No AI text.

- Credit anyone you work with on the file and project pages if applicable

-  I don't care if there's taboo content in your work. Just don't get caught breaking TOS by the Big Itch,  I don't know, you do you. I don't judge. Content warnings are appreciated, but  ultimately I believe it is up to the author to allow their work to be received any way they wish it to be received. If a reader is uncomfortable with this, they can simply choose not to read a book that lacks warnings.

- Please don't be rude to other participants.

- Works may be any price.

 Community

Beginning October 13, I will post a question every Tuesday on Bluesky under the tag "#ChronicallyOnlineJam" for participants to answer, over at my account https://bsky.app/profile/remedyjane.bsky.social. Depending on interest, I may make a Discord server.

Let's go! Let's have fun!
