Japanese article gained us 1,000 wishlists

About a week ago I made a post on Reddit about that one follower every indie developer seems to have who likes and comments on basically everything you post.

In the comments I mentioned that we actually had someone like this who had been following The Hive for years. At one point he suddenly disappeared for about two weeks and I genuinely started wondering if something had happened to him.

Turns out he was just on vacation. He came back and then went through all the posts he had missed and started liking and commenting on them again.

That was basically the whole story.

Today I noticed our Steam wishlists suddenly exploding in Japan and had no idea why.

Then I found out that Japanese gaming site AUTOMATON had somehow found that Reddit discussion and written an entire article about it.

They also talked about The Hive, its development history, the recent updates and the Japanese translation we added last month.

I have had posts get a lot of views before, but I did not think Japanese media would find it from Reddit.

Random Reddit post -> Japanese gaming article -> Thousands Steam wishlists.

Game marketing is weird sometimes.
